Printing Map.cfg files

Post by Lynton »

Does anyone know if its possible to print off the map files. It would be very usefull to be able to have a paper copy of the map for discusions and visits to the rolling road etc.
I found a file on here that is supposed to convert a standard map file to a CSV file for viewing and printing in Excell, But unfortunately it doesnt seem to work, this is possibly due to it being a older Window program. Any help appreciated.

You can open them in Notepad

You can open them in Notepad and print them off, although you have to know how to interpret them - open the same file with the Configurator and you'll be able to see how to do the interpretation.

Alternatively, just open the file in the Configurator and take a 'screen dump' using either:
- the PrtScreen button on your key board and paste it into a graphics program eg Paint
- using a screen grabber program like MW Snap 3 (freeware) from http://www.mirekw.com/winfreeware/mwsnap.html

works just fine

Oh that program you mentioned works, to learn how to use it, read the "MJ_CSV Use.txt" file. Another thing you need to know is how to graph the results in Excel.

Even nicer :) Just multiply

Post by MartinM »

Even nicer :)

Just multiply the RPM bins by 100 and the programmable output rpms by 100 and you're there!

Not on my PC

I trust your comments were meant to be helpfull, and we are talking about the same program MJ-CSV. Below is a copy of the MJ_CSV use.txt file
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Hi All

This app is very simple and converts from MegaJoltLiteJr config files into a nice easy CSV format file to load into excel to do 3d graphs etc.

Usage:

MJ_CSV.exe expects a file called input.cfg to be in the same directory as itself, and will output to a file called output.csv

Thats's it!

Hope its of use,
__________________________________________________________________________________________

The program allready comes with an example file called input.cfg and if you run the application it creates a file called output.csv I have no problem with that.
To try to convert an existing map file i renamed the example files Tempinput.cfg and tempoutput.csv.
I then renamed the map file i wanted converted to input.cfg and tried to run the application. I then get the error
Run time Error "5"
invalid procedure call or argument

I have no problem in graphing results in Excell, once i get a csv file

It should do the outputs -

It should do the outputs - but not the RPM bins...

Am not 100% sure that I have the programmable outputs in the right "mode"

Works just fine, the prove is above. You are not using the program correctly, nor you are following the instructions in MJ_CVS use.txt. No need to post it here, we are talking about the same program.

The error you mentioned is given when the user supplies a file in format other than .CFG.. There is your problem. What is a .CFG file? It's Java properties file format, used by Java Tuner. That example input.cfg you can open in Notepad and read it, it's a text file. The file you're supplying is of different format.

Still No joy

I have no doubt the file conversion works on your pc but it doesnt work here. The map file im using loads fine into the MJ-junior tuner, and loads to the megajolt and runs ok. If as you say im not using it correct then why does it convert the example file.

Suplied Example file
