firing order

Post by strech »

just a quick question my firing order is 1,3,4,2, should i connect the leads on the coil so that number 1 goes to 1 ,2 to 2 and so on.or should i work on the theory that the coil fires 1,2,3,4, and change the leads to correspond with my firing order.

does this make sense or am i just rambling

Yes, most four-cylinders are 1-3-4-2.

Good question. The Ford coil has them marked. Connect the coil tower #1 to cylinder #1, 2 to 2, 3 to 3, 4 to 4. Worked fine on my Nissan engine.

My coil pack didn't have any labels, so this wasn't an issue for me. All inline fours have a firing order of either 1-2-4-3 or 1-3-4-2, so one coil always connects to 1-4 and the other always connects to 2-3.
