Trigger wheel height

Post by Gregs672000 »

Searched the sticky etc but could not find the answer. Can the tops of the points of the tigger wheel be equal to or slightly below the edge of the crank pulley itself? In other words, I need a trigger wheel that is the same or slightly smaller in outside diameter to that of the crank pulley due to interference problems. It will be welded directly to the back of the pulley, so no spacing between the wheel and the pulley there either. Will this throw off the sensor? Thanks!

A trigger wheel the same diameter as the pulley is just fine, smaller than the pulley may give problems though but it really depends on the amount smaller and how close the sensor is.
