EDIS-4 dwell

Post by eds911915 »

is there a way to check dwell on a base edis-4 without MJ connected i know that the amount of teeth passing the vr sensor has alot to do with the amount of time the primary circuit stays open. im thinking to back probe pins 1&3 at the coil pack with an oscilliscope but not sure what type of wave form im looking for?

it's pretty easy to measure with an oscilloscope - just look at the waveform and measure the time between when the coil starts charging (the rising voltage) and when it falls. That will tell you the number of milliseconds the EDIS module is programming for dwell.
