just a little suggestion but what about a bigger load/rpm map mybe 14/14 thus allowing you to have a point every 500rpm on a 7000rpm engine and more load points for throttle position!! but at the same time not having to use them all if you dont want to!

I don't know if this would be possible, but its a thought that crossed my mind.
Using the swithing map function on the V3.1, would it be possible to use one of the programmable outputs to switch the option input at a certain RPM.
For example, set rpm load sites every 500 rpm, than at say 5000 rpm set, say PRG2 to activate and, switch to the second map, which then continues from 5000rpm to 7000rpm in 500rpm steps.
