VR sensor Location

Post by Funky Diver »

Whilst stripping down the head I'm going to be using on my engine... (it's a 1.6 injected VW unit) I came across the location of the timing sensor used by VW.

I thought it worthy of posting up in case anyone is looking to use a different location rather than the cam shaft (which I am, hah)

Here's the timing wheel behind the cam sprocket...

And a slightly different view to get the idea of it's perspective. You can just make out the sensor at the bottom of hte timing wheel... to the right of where it says Germany

And the wheel itself... as you can see it's a dished shape, but certainly worth investigation I reckon. I'll dig out my RX7 VR sensors tomorrow and have a play :)

Apologies for the rubbish photo's hands were mucky and had iPhone to hand :D
