Correct, I had noted that in my initial post.

It's a real shame on that. :cry:

FORD EDIS 8 FIRING ORDER:

Coil 1 -> 1&6

Coil 2 -> 3&5

Coil 3 -> 4&7

Coil 4 -> 2&8

The cylinders in bold are in the same firing order as the 4AG (as well as countless other 4 cylinder motors) distributor firing order.

EDIS 8 in 4 Cylinder Applications

Since the EDIS-8 has 4 coil out puts, wouldn't this allow for a "true" sequential ignition using coil packs in a 4 cylinder set-up? If so, would you still have to set the VR sensor at the prescribed 50° after the missing tooth or would it be at 90° per an EDIS-4 setup? I'm inclined towards...

Dear Dr OCA I Am following you great COPS project because I want also fit on my car a COPS system (Escort xr3i ) I see that you use two edis-4, instead of setting up two edis-4 ignition can I fit a edis-8? With the best regards menwarrior That's a really good question. Another question to add to th...

You could do this today using the AUX input and have the ignition correction sub-map bump the map up and down as needed.

see the 'operation guide' on how this might work.
Hey that's perfect. I'll have to implement this as well. Thanks for the direction brent. There ya go ivanhoew.

Maybe for adjusting overall timing correction on the fly.

Good stuff, good stuff. The reason I thought it may work is that I run a single MJLJ with 4 COPs this way in waste spark on my 1.6 4cyl but with a single VR sensor and the EDIS modules in parallel: VR± combined, +12v, Ground and Shield combined, etc... With the EDIS modules running individual VR sen...

Couldn't this essentially work using a 72-2 crank trigger wheel & x2 VR sensors, x2 EDIS-4 Modules and x4 coil per plugs (taken from the RX-8)? The VR sensor for the trailing spark is staggered by ~5° in the illustration. This with still just a single MJLJ unit. http://i71.photobucket.com/albums...

I like that the mounting tabs are now part of the chassis. On the previous enclosure with the removal tabs I had to shim them to take up the slack so the MJ wouldn't rattle.

Thanks Ryan. Yeah, I was thinking about my suggestion and realized it was an idiotic suggestion on my part. Goes to show you my lack of understanding the electrical engineering arena. I've got another option I'm looking at that an RX7Club member is generously lending me a hand involving a CAS from a...

I know it's been a few months but I wanted to run this by some of your electrical geniuses: If I were to run CPPs (Coils Per Plug since the coils aren't directly "on" the plugs - RX8 Coils) and 2 EDIS modules in parallel (Leading Spark handled by EDIS 1 & Trailing by EDIS2) could a res...
