Water Injection

On my 1969 Mercedes 6.3 I have major problems getting any sort of results with the fuel available here in Australia and as result I get huge preignition . I have adjusted my timing etc to try and ease the situation but at full throttle  it rattles like mad. What I want to do is add water injec...

i want to do a bit more cleaning up first, :) such as moving the coil packs to the inner fenders instead of being mounted on the engine and so on. Cheers!

Hi,everything is displayed oK and i'm connected to the Box from my laptop . The Load guage is reading OK ,but the advance guage and engine revs are just sitting there doing nothing.. :( Also, the profile view of the advance curve won't respond to prompts from the keyboard. I'm not getting any error m...

Rev read out and Advance readout Not working

Hi,My V3(preassembled) is still working OK but i am unable to get the screen of rev counter and the Advance to show a reading. i'm not sure but I don't think either are showing on the runtime screen either. Have I inadvertantly turned something off by mistake? What should i check in the MJ itself? C...

Hi Brent,Yes I have both in place to experiment. As you can see in ther picture the astock damper is somewhat larger so the teeth will be further apart I think . Should i machine them so the gap between is the same size as the ford wheel, meaning the teeth will be passing under the pickup longer, ? o...

Toothed Wheel questions

i just got home from a car rally with my mercedes. With the MJ it runs far better than I expected (shame about the broken trans band though..) . I have to modify my wheel and Pick up set up though. At present i have the wheel mounted on the front of the pulley and i want to machine the damper with t...

It's OK,i think I have it . The car is running well,in fact it's insane. I still have to reorganise the Map to settle it in the 1000 1500 RPM range to give it a smoother transition. These engines develop big torque from 1000 RPM so it's difficult to get the feel for what is right or wrong until i ca...

Mine is a V3 ,but i have it starting OK with 0 advance at 500RPM. In the pic i posted the right hand graph is the vacuum graph for a standard engine. How could i go about translating that into the load bins ? In the pic the vacuum is expressed in mm of mercury. Cheers! 1 mm Hg - 133 Pa or 1.33 Kpa?...

timing After tdc

Ok,I am almost ready to sort my ignition on my Mercedes 6.3 . The timing specs call for the timing at cranking speed to be 4 degrees after TDC. Whats the best way to do this?,begin the map at 0 or -4 degrees?. Can I in fact do this?. Standard specs call for the ignition to begin advancing at 0-4 BTD...

Moving firm ware from here( PC ) to there ( lap top.)

I can down load the firm ware OK ,but I want to copy it on to a disc and use it in my lap top.
BUT,For some reason windows ME only allows me to down load to the floppy drive .Is it possible to do this? How big a floppy disc do I need ?.as I get a message saying the disc I used wasn't big enough.
