20xe engines

Post by Ivan »

Hello 20xe friends

And ofcourse all other petrol heads!
Finally I managed to squeeze everything in to the enginebay
of my old Opel Kadett C from '78 which is now powered by the
20xe engine with coscast cilinderhead, twin dollerto's, other cams,
63mm bore exhaust and last but not least the MjLJ ignition!!!
I am participating in the Belgien hillclimbs and hope to get
some good results out of the car whit this setup.
I would like to get in closer contact with other 20xe engine
favorits so we can help each other with the problems we encounter.
I myself am a mecanic and bilded my car completly with my own
hands and with the knowledge from myself and the wide world on the
internet.
Feel free to mail for any questions at [email protected] or
even a chat about cars is welkom.
I hope this isn't a problem posting my e-mail here in the forum
because I don't want to exclude anybody of any information.

A few weeks ago there was someone on here with a 20xe engine in a
Ford and I am not sure about his name, fodder.. something.
You where also getting to the point of tuning, anny succes yet?

Regards Ivan Opel Fuelburner Vanherpe ( my full name )

Im building an XE with twin 45 Dellortos to go into a 7.
Im going to use MJLJ & hoping that it can be run from the internal 60-2 trigger wheel. Does anyone know the answer?

Bob,

Since the MJLJ only communicates with the Ford EDIS module, the primary focus revolves around getting the EDIS module working on your engine.

EDIS requires a 36-1 wheel on the crank- see the technical info section above.

Other configuration might be possible, but in the end the EDIS module needs to see the equivalent of a 36-1 signal.

Hope this helps,
