Dyno controller/logger

Hi would race capture pro be able be used as a bench dyno logger??
our dyno controller is basically a data logger it measures the mass rpm (inertia type) and engine rpm against time .
we have to input setup data into the software
basically press a trigger the software starts counting we rev the motor to max rpm then hit the trigger to stop.
software calculates how long it takes to spin up the mass

Also is there a RPM pickup available yet say to clip onto coil lead like a timing light?

we are looking to build a eddy current brake type dyno there's no problem getting the retarder and load cell which uses an electronic variable brake control that could probably also be controlled by race capture.

Any thoughts?

Hello,

Yes, RaceCapture/Pro would work well for that application.

If a circuit could be made to turn the ignition pickup into a clean square wave, then it could be used to measure RPM as well.

Great idea!
