Bonjour from Trois-Rivieres, Qc, CDN

Post by Physic Simulation »

Bonjour,

My name is Daniel. I love physic and simulation. I am fluent in many programming languages since I work in IT for more than 20 years. I am mature but kidding with car racing.

Last year, I started my involvement with a kart racing group. Not any karts, Honda Open category. I use my physics knowledge to develop new successful mechanical products (open class :D).

This year, to promote our new product performances, we looked at DAQ system for dynamometer. Finally, I proposed to our group of 3 racers to acquire a logging system (GPS, accelerometer, ... in supplement to RPM only for dyno) to improve driver performance and to test new products on track.

Our Honda Open 4-stroke class uses GX-200 (for normal drivers), and GX-270 (for weighted drivers) with single atio gear tranny. Boosted at 8000 rpm, we reach about 16 HP and 24 HP respectvely (see graph). This year, we are targetting the 10,000 rpm barrier.

Here is my YouTube Channel where you can see our last season performance

The most interesting video race was at Trois-Rivieres, our home base, "The Monaco of Trois-Rivieres" where we had a Canadian Karting News coverage. Note that the Monaco races is always the weekend preceeding the Trois-Rivieres Grand Prix (GP3R), a race weekend were some of our drivers would expect to partocopate in a near future.

Here is the Monaco video race

and the GP3R video race

To conclude, I am looking for Race Capture products to driver and dyno benefits.

P.S.: I am also an experienced hobby-programmer for CHDK (Canon Hack Development Kit), that uses C code and Lua scripts.

Daniel,

Awesome, thanks for sharing your work! Love that you're using Lua and C programming already for camera hacking. You'll be right at home working with the RaceCapture/Pro firmware! Yeah!
