I likely will not get around to working on this until October. I returned the car to HEI so I can run my Autocross events. I looked at the car again today and the problem is still finding a suitable mount. The two coil packs tend to be heavy when trying to mount them.

Thanks for your help and opinions.

The EDIS moudule will work with a variety of coil packs. you might find something lighter and with a packaging configuration that might suit your needs better.

For example the 2nd generation coil pack with flat bottom: http://www.autosportlabs.com/ford-cylin ... -p-61.html; or use 4 of the twinpost coil packs: http://www.autosportlabs.com/universal- ... -p-60.html

Keep us posted on your project!

The twinpost coil looks promising. But this coil normally plugs into a factory interface. Would this setup need some type of interface like an MSD 8870 or could the primary switching wire and power wire plug right into the bottom of the coil with spade connectors?

Thanks again,

John

If it's a standard 'dumb' coi (ie not a coil pack with built-in drivers), then it should work fine with the EDIS module. In the case of the twinpost coil pack, two of these would be the equivalent of one 4 post coil pack, hence 4 needed for a V8.

Here is a diagram of the system I built with 2 MSD DIS-4 modules. I am completing a digram with 1 DIS-4 module. In either case the same problem occurs.
