Universal PWM tail light module

All,

I like the work you've done with Megajolt. Good stuff. I'm looking forward to more growth with COP's.

I've been wanting someone to do a low cost LED tail light module for some time. My thought is to have a module based on the Maxim MAX16804. There are tons of specific LED tail light replacements. It'd be nice if someone made a module to support individuals using perf board for the tail light. The controller would have PWM to allow those of use with small tail light lenses to use all the available surface for LED's. Many older cars have a lense for driving light and a lense for brake. The dim would be the driving light, full would be brakes. This could effectively double the brake light for older cars. Additionally the LED's would have protection from the starter, etc.

Inputs - stop and driving (maybe turn as well)
outputs - connection for customized high output LED's

Interesting!

Leave it to Maxim to have a specialized chip like this!

So you're saying, instead of using separate bright & dim bulbs for brake and driving light, use both for driving and braking, using the proposed LED controller?
