v4 16 pin wiring diagram

Post by extremsplvr6 »

I have a customer that brought me a mj2 and edis 4.I am guessing its used from what I can tell?I know how the setup is suppose to work.I understand the pins for the edis4.I do not know what the pins on the 16 pin connector are? Where could I get those diagrams?Or do I just open it up and look at the circuit board because every unit is setup different depending on user and setup they would use it on?

Hello,

So what problems are you experiencing, exactly? And, where are you at in the installation process? The engine should be runnable on EDIS alone (without the megajolt connected) at the default 10 degrees BTDC.

After the EDIS module is running the engine, the Megajolt can be hooked in to control ignition advance.

No spark. With or without mj hooked up.I scoped the ckp sensor.Wave form is good.I tried reversing the wires from the ckp sensor. No change.Checked power and ground on all pins.Threw on a new icm and coil.still no spark.Im going off the minimal wiring diagram.I have not used a map or tps.Ckp sensor is 90 degrees btdc. The ckp sensor, coil, icm are all installed :(

What all is needed to make this edis work without the mj? Coil, icm, ckp sensor, and the wheel?

It's all covered in the diagram in the installation guide.

When you say ICM what do you mean exactly? Are you using a Ford EDIS module (EDIS-4, EDIS-6 or EDIS-8) ?

Got it, thank you for clarifying.

If you pull a plug do you see any spark during cranking?

Do you have consistent +12V to the EDIS module and coil pack *while* the engine is cranking?

What gap do you have between the sensor and trigger wheel? When you say 'waveform is good' what peak-to-peak voltage are you reading while monitoring it?

Providing the EDIS and coil pack is receiving +12V, the EDIS/sensor/coil-pack wiring is correct, and the EDIS module is known good, it should generate spark.

Found a lot of bad wiring in the car.12v Ign was falling off while cranking and the engine had bad ground.I got spark but still no start. What is the spark plug wire routing to the coil?
