1968 VW Beetle

Post by eric_f »

Just thought I'd get this thread started, since I've got the MJLJ in the car, but not the engine ;)
The TL;DR version, engine rebuilt this year, new basically everything, new brakes, arduino will be in car for lots of info, MJLJ works great; I'm working on my VR sensor bracket right now, cleaning up the engine getting it ready to be put back in. However, before that I'm going to rewire the whole car, so I've got lots of preplanning to do.

Thanks for sharing- Love the different projects you have going on. Which GPS module are you working with? it looks familiar.

Super clean engine bay too!

The GPS is the Parallax PMB-248.

If you think it's clean now, just wait until it's finished ;)
I'm going to try and get many more pictures as I go.

Right now I'm trying to plan all my wiring, going to gut the car and redo everything.

Today I was working on my VR sensor mount. I've prettied it up a little, thought I'd share some pics.

Also here is my trigger wheel design

I know the degree pulley is in rough shape, I'm going to replace it sometime, just now now. I have other things to spend my money on first ;)

And as usual, more info available on my blog http://efriesen.blogspot.com

Edit: in this pic you can see the before
