Installing under hood or inside cockpit?

I read on megasquirt's side that it is recommended to install the unit inside cockpit, I don't find any similar advice for megajolt. Should it be installed under the hood or inside cockpit??

I have ECC-IV and Ford 4.6L, naturally aspired and soon to have a two stage resonance intake manifold.

I recommend installing in the cockpit. The components are not rated for the temperature range seen inside of the engine compartment- plus you want to keep it away from humidity and moisture.
