Default cable to VR sensor from Ford not shielded !?

If you get stuck, http://trigger-wheels.com/store/ sells proper vehicle-quality shielded twin cable. I can testify that it's good cable!

IMHO, after spending upwards of £100 on bits and goodness know what in time and effort, the best solution is one that works reliably.

I have shown (reported above) that shielded twin core is necessary for some applications and hence I would use it always in future.

A quick look at the Maplins site has shown that shielded twisted pair is available in cut lengths for less than £2 per metre - pretty cost-effective I'd say...

Just bear in mind that the trigger-wheels stuff has got heavy-duty sleeving that's reasonably oil- and fuel-resistant - I'm not sure that you could say the same about Maplin's stuff.

Good point! Although I'm not actually using the Maplin's stuff myself (even though it does look fine to me) since I got some with the EDIS unit from the American supplier - I was just pointing out a cheap source. If (like me) you protect it well with that convoluted stuff and route it carefully I think it would be fine...
