limp mode start

so i have a toyota tacoma motor on my 74 corolla and im running the megajolt. my problem is that it whont start in limp mode. everything is connected right, im gething spark out of the system and it even back fires but no start any input would be helpfull.

That happened to me with my 72 Datsun 1200 (Corolla arch-rival :-) ) even had little faint backfire occasionally

I had the timing wheel mis-positioned. While at TDC, the sensor should be pointed at the tooth which is n teeth counter-clockwise from the missing tooth.

Mine is on the sixth tooth counter-clockwise. I originally tried nine but it didn't run.

the nineth tooth is right for 4 cylinder engines, sixth for 6 cylinder.

maybe you have connected the ignition cables to the wrong cylinders, sounds like its fireing into the intake stroke
