15-18v ZENER DIODE

Post by Hamiltonguitars »

Hi guys:

I'm trying to do the tach set-up using the 1n4004 and the 15-18v zener diode.

All the parts in our extra bins around here are marked with part numbers not zener 15 or 18 v. Can someone throw out a part number to look for? I'm a mechanical guy not electrical, so I'm not certain what I'm Lookin for...

Try a BZX85C15 or BZX85C18. Datasheet <A HREF="http://www.vishay.com/docs/85607/bzx85.pdf">here</A>.

I'm still struggeling whith my tacho
For the moment I am using one side of the coil and it only shows half
of the revs.
I tryed the diode and zener setup but no luck so far.
Isn't it possible to electronical double the signal from one side of the coil
so everytime it fires it multiplies by 2?
