Connecting a Smiths RVI tachometer

Post by steve_c »

After searching for a way to connect up my RVI tacho, I followed a tip given by Josh_b (which came from lotus68racer?), which involved taking the tacho wire which went to the original coil +ve feed (coil current flows through the tacho to the coil) and connecting it to the coil pack common (black wire) which would have gone to fused 12V. Seemed to work ok in the garage. Will know tomorrow if it works on the road when I take the car to a classic car event.
