1965 MGB installation

Post by MGBMarty »

some pics of my install... 1965 MGB +40 18V block reworked big valve cylinder head, Nissan 280ZX 5 speed..
completed June 2010

This is a MAP type installation.

The ignition map I used came from the 'how it was done section"
so far I haven't modified it because the car runs so well. starts from cold in a few turns, and from hot the same..

Th car pulls hard through the gears and idles dead smooth!

The trigger wheel came from triggerwheels.com and it was for a A series engine. I milled the adapter so it sits 2 thou out from the pulley and I milled the pulley down to ensure the sensor reads properly.. the next one I do will simply be a larger trigger wheel...( 6 inches) so the pulley will remain standard.

There is a lot of theory that the damper shouldn't be modified, but so far I don't notice any negative vibrations etc.

The sensor is from a 2000 Ford Taurus.

I spend about 400 Cnd dollars in the install.
