Suppression of electrical noise

Does anyone know what value of Cap was used on the original Ford unit to suppress any electrical noise ? Noticed last night that my shift light, running off the Megajolt, was faintly flickering all the time. If I disconnect my (electric) fuel pump it cures it, until the car stalls with no fuel. Stra...

There's a simple way to check, for running lean.

Get a can of carb cleaner with a straw attached to the nozzle. Start the engine, squirt some of the carb cleaner into the engine. Not a lot, just a quick squirt. If the engine smooths out and the RPM's go up. it's running lean.

How about an rpm triggered solenoid for a Pan-evac system(crankcase breather to exhaust venturi)? Drag racers use these for oil control, of course they have lots of blowby to contend with. Some draggers use a vacuum pump, less oil sloshing equals more horsepower. A lot of mini's used to run this sy...

Could you confirm the wiring on your rev counter? one of my units is almost identical to yours but both have the same connections, picture of the back perhaps? Thanks. On the back there are two connections, a "Lucar" space connection for the 12V. And a bullet connector for the Tach signal...

8)

Spent this morning, doing this. :o
Mapped F5, ESC and Space. (F6 requires you to enter a filename, F5 just uses date/time.)

Used a USB keyboard, and can use a USB/PS2 convertor, when needed.

Now to find a box and a few switches.

If you look at the bottom of the 2nd picture you will see the writing, normally covered with the bezel.

Hi, out of interest how do you drive your rev counter? What feed or method do you use? - I have just fitted my MegaJolt version 3 this weekend and managed to get the car running, also an A-Series engine, turbo charged. I am about to start wiring the dash this week which will include an older style ...

Just to clear this thread off.

New edis4 unit and car runs fine again.

Not sure why old one failed, but maybe just a time thing.

Getting 12v at coil pins, and looms checks ok.

think it is the EDIS, as it's now failed completely. Not MJ/Rev limiter related as same problem with it missing so in limp home mode.

When the new one arrives i'll know for sure.

The problem was presented once installed the rev-limit or is the second time you install a MJLJ?
Was running, fine with rev limiter, then suddenly went onto two sparks.

Now giving no sparks at all. :( so I guess it is edis failing.

Waiting for new EDIS to arrive

No Spark on 2 & 3

Looks like the EDIS module has failed. :( Plenty of sparks on 1 & 4, and swapping the trigger wires on the Coil Pack, causes 2 & 3 to work, and 1 & 4 fail, so that rules it out. Off to raid the local scrap yard and see if there are any more EDIS modules lying there. Any other possible ca...
