External appearance wise, they look exactly the same as the GM/Holden V6 Motor Coilpacks which I have used on about 4 megajolt installations without a problem. The hardest part is making a mounting plate for them, since they have these odd-sized spade-sockets in the back that the pack sits on, and t...

Have you checked that the spacing between your VR sensor and your wheel hasnt changed and that your mounting bracket is solid ? I'm guessing that CPS = Crank Position (VR) Sensor ? So you swapped it for another one ? You say you have checked the wires and they're ok.. How have you checked them ? Jus...

If it makes you feel any better, its not just Megajolts that suffer from crappy serial port problems. I have just finished fixing a CAD system where the big pen-plotter was giving no end of trouble. The manufacturer installed a PCI Serial Port card on the computer since they had had trouble in the p...

Why would you want a 72-2 Tooth Wheel ? Each EDIS still wants to see a 36-1.. its just the offset sensors that will result in each one firing at a slightly different rate. I'm not sure about being able to use a single Megajolt though. From what I read here http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/EDIS.htm Note...

I also have these two modules for an upcoming install, so I just did some bench testing with both to make sure they were both working and see what the difference was.. Identical test setup from one to the other, just unplugged the EDIS conenctor and changed modules, no other changes were made. Despi...

This is the relevant part of the NixieTach Arduino code to disassemble and seperate the response string received from the megajolt (in megajolt_rx_string), and calculate the human-readable RPM and store it in megajolt_rpm_word. It also seperates out all the other flags and current bins etc and store...

Nice Progress there Ryan (iirc). Very fast refresh rates on LCD's can produce some weird effects.. The Liquid Crystal cant change state fast enough (especially at Low Temperature. wait till you see what your LCD moves like after being parked outside overnight :) The liquid thickens up and moves slow...

Process of Elimination - maybe Start at the spark plugs and work backwards. Remove the EDIS and a couple of plugs. Clip-lead 12v to the coil pack, and tap the earth wire on the pin and see if you get a spark. If not, youve narrowed it down to the coilpack or leads (I assume the plugs are ok if he dr...

The Quadrotor stuff is cool to watch (I spent a year or so learning to fly RC helicopters (and wrecked a lot of parts in the process, so that sort of control is impressive), , but I wonder how well it would work in an real-world (unknown) environment. In a pre-mapped closed box loaded with position ...

You could determine the values for your particular sensor easily enough with a thermometer (medical) to calibrate against. Cup of boiling water =100 Cup of Ice/Salt Water = 0 add a couple of points in between to determine the approximate linearity and you should be on the track. For Bonus points, pu...

Another option if you're willing to throw a few more dollars at the idea is this website I recently came across The Scooter-puter. http://www.janspace.com/b2evolution/arduino.php/2010/06/26/scooterputer A *very* nice implementation of a nice color OLED touch screen and an Arduino that you could prob...

OK.. :) There are a lot of ways to make an Arduino talk to your standard style (Hitachi 44780 controller chip - there are others to watch out for). The easiest way is to wire the LCD directly to the Arduino in either 8-bit or 4-bit parallel mode. which allows you to use the standard pre-written Ardu...
