If it's any consolation, I'm running my mk2 50hz unit at 10hz to get better data quality. At 50hz, the GPS position was jumping all over the place at random times during runs. 10hz has been plenty good for me. Sure, the speed signal is delayed by ~0.2s behind what you see the accels doing, but for r...

I've logged up to ~16 CAN messages at 30hz without any issues on the latest firmware. I've also used the RCPmk2 with a terminal program to grab everything off the HS vehicle CAN bus at the 30hz max sample (tick) rate. Max sample speed is 30hz: http://www.autosportlabs.net/RaceCapturePro_Lua_Scriptin...

Virtual channel with getGpsSpeed()*1.6 would seem to be a quick and dirty work around.

It should automatically add the virtual channel to the datalog file when you create the channel. Example here:

Hey Copper, have you tried logging in different configurations to see if you can get any data? Without lua script? Different memory card? Different power source? CAN not connected?

Happy to send you a config file that works on my RCP if it would be of any use.

You're not alone in having no distance in your logs. Brent and Co. are working on this for the next firmware release (2.8.4, iirc). In the mean time, my work around has been to create my own distance channel in excel prior to importing the csv file into Dlog99 for conversion to .stf I'm just using s...

Since you brought it up in the data analysis thread...am I going to see that car at any local auto-x events this year? A bit of searching showed we have maybe crossed paths a time or two at council events back in 2013 (perhaps 2012 and 2011 as well). I was in a blue HS mini cooper for 2013. 2011 and...

Did you write the changes to the unit after you added the signals? (bottom left corner of the app, arrow pointing at the device) After you write the update, you'll have to reboot the RCP for the changes to take effect. Sometimes I also have to close the app to get the new signals to show up on the d...

All you should need to do hardware-wise is plug the cable into the car and the RCP.

For RPM, did you write a script to read the correct CAN message for RPM on your car?

Did you try using the built in OBDII PID functionality instead?

What year, make, and model car?

I'll do it here to help anyone who may be in a similar spot. I have GEMS, and DLO99 installed. I've downloaded the zip file from github and unzipped it, but after looking at the readme, I'm not sure what the next step really is... Thanks Josh! Jason So to run the script from github, you'll need to ...

I have Mk2 hardware. Which is ANYthing but convenient when it comes to analysis. Brent keeps pointing to live streaming which I don't need or want to pay for. What I want is a simple way to look at and analyze the data I've been gathering. Being a mechanical engineer, and not a programmer, neither ...

So if there is no progress on an offline data analysis for the RaceCapture app, how about an option to manually upload files to https://www.race-capture.com/ so we can analyze them online? Maybe that is easier to implement than offline analysis in the RaceCapture app? brentp hinted it would be avai...

See this post (and thread) for instructions on how to convert and view RCP log files in GEMS or AEMData: http://www.autosportlabs.org/viewtopic.php?p=22468#22468 For comparison with folks using a DL1, you can export in csv form from RaceAnalysis and import into GEMS/AEMData using Dlog99. I'll admit,...
