have you checked the poundage of the valve springs??? or fitted a new set?? or checked that your current ones are fitted corectly and are compatible with the rev range the cam is trying to pull?? it sounds a little like valve bounce in those second pair of videos!! im going against the engine builde...

now having the ability to show you when you are running lean would be a good one maybe another gauge for the tuning window! especially for the turbo guys! and if there was maybe a rev limit cut in when things got dangerous it save a piston or two!!!

i wonder if the pin 11 output taken thru the older smiths inductive pickup tacho then to earth via a condensor would work! anyone got one to try it with?

it would stil be well worth doing a compression check! you could be sharing compression between the 2 cylinders that are giving you a problem!

well spotted about the mini forum, yes im fikus jsut about everywhere! im afraid i cant comment for sure about the VR sensors! IIRC you can spin the engine over and measure the voltage coming out of the sensor unplugged! or someting like that!

hi, i dont know if im right at all with this but i didnt think ford used magnetti marelli vr sensors!! that sounds more peugeot/french! that could be the problem if its not a ford item!!

pressure waves!!

just a thought u can get blow back jsut at certain revs because of the pulsing effect of air getting drawn into a carb, it wud take me a long while to describe it so look a little into pressure waves and induction length tuning. this could be the problem! failing that it could be a fuelling problem,...

if you're going non edis then maybe a different or selectable type of trigger could be employed. maybe utilising static timing from a distributor! i know there can be an amount of slack in an ignition system with a dizzy because of slack in the timing chain or work gears etc etc, especiall on a-seri...
