All good now
Just got Brent's software to work also. I changed the rev limit and shiftlight stuff, and updated that. Now on to wiring it up, and mounted the crank pulley, sensor, and TPS. Thank you very much for your help Martin, another newbie jumped a hurdle! Instructions must be followed EXACTLY, can't stress...

OOPS!
Martin, you are right, it is under program files, I'll redo it. As an aside, Alex's software communicates with the Megajolt now, I was playing around with it and got it to work. Java must have enabled that to work. My files are all in the right place now. Hey, it works, nothing wrong with the machin...

Much better, thanks.
Hex is a LOT clearer than ASCII! Got good hex data back for C and S. Voltage at pin 10 now 2.58 to 2.61, more in line I would think. Cable is verified good, and Bray's works fine, so what could I have done wrong? I must admit this computer has always been problematic with communications, at least as...

Oscillator ok?
2.91 vdc at pin 10. Got Bray's, and you are right, a bunch of zeros with a couple of characters for "C", and a few zeros and a space and one other character fot "S". So now what? Output is this for "C": OOO!""48zeros.(period up high)00LF sometimes less zeros t...

Just loaded Brent's software
Followed all Brent's instructions, etc. configurator comes up. Everything looks normal , but message is "unable to open port com1,unknown serial port" Will try your advice Martin, thank you. Also, on my serial cable, it should be a straight through, correct? Will check the oscillator. I do...

No communication on test bench
I know I am probably the 89th person to have this problem, but here goes: I did assembly and testing yesterday, all parts from Digi-Key. I only substituted a couple parts for TPS, as they were OOS on some on the list. C13, C14, and the inductor were OOS, so I substituted for identical parts but diff...

Maybe something bizarre like
Maybe something bizarre like an RF noise bothering the EDIS because of bad or even just different than stock groundshielding? Maybe your ground shield around the sensor wire is acting like an antenna?

On Digi-key, 399-4466-1-nd
On Digi-key, 399-4466-1-nd for c-13, 399-1341-nd for c14, and m8610-nd for L1. The choke is kind of large physically, but since the value is the same, it should work. It does fit on the board no problem. I just received all my parts yesterday from Digi-key.

As I understand it, a hard
As I understand it, a hard limit is like a switch, on or off. A soft limit is proportionate to some extent, you pick what rpm to start retarding the timing and at what rate it is retarded. Of course I would leave the hard cutoff as a failsafe.

I think you are correct
I will preface this with the fact that my Megajolt is not done yet. So I can't help with pinouts. But it is my understanding that an earth or groundshield should only be grounded on one end, in this case the EDIS end. At least that is what I plan to do on mine.

Where are the Subaru guts?
I don't know much about aircraft conversions, but why aren't you trying to use the Suby computer for spark and fuel?

This is exactly what I need!
I have a type1 VW 2165cc in a 550 Spyder replicar. The 009 dizzy is NOT accurate, moves around 5 degrees at 3000. Thusly, I have to dial back the timing to prevent ping. This looks like the solution, as far as cost, programmability, and accuracy. Thanks to all who have thought up, designed, worked o...
