I generally leave mine plugged in and then turn the ignition on. I take it the light is coming onto the MJLJ OK? Can you double check that it actually has 12V (or thereabouts) across the power pins as I had huge problems with power supply before

Just thinking, regarding my query about advancing ignition whilst engine is running - it might be possible to wire a variable resistor into one of the auxiliary inputs - can't these then be used to alter the timing depending on output? Thanks, Brent. It's 24V which has caused a few problems. I'm currently running the ignition system off a 12V leisure battery as the voltage dropper doesn't work whilst cranking as the starter takes too much power. I'm going to install a small auxiliary battery (the kind you use for fire alarms etc.)...

They are awesome off road. Massive ground clearance due to portal axles, lockable diffs (on the fly) & huge departure axles. They are dreadful on the road, though - slow, cumbersome and with drum brakes that don't work in the wet! Engines are air-cooled so they never sound whisper quiet but mine...
