Please clarify a point for me. I have looked through some of my references, and they show the 88 Thunderbird as being the only 2.3 with a turbo. This engine is listed as only having a distributor, and not distributorless ignition.

True, but they aren't running 310 degree engine temperatures with 10.25 compression on 87 octane gas. In this case, the pinging is a direct result of the head being so freaking hot.

It’s entirely possible that two EDIS would run off a single MJLJ. The potential issues are that the VR sensor signal would not support two modules, and that dual wiring could cause ground loops and other weird feedback.
