Re: Getting Data off RaceCapture/Track
RaceCapture generates CSV data that has empty fields when sample rates for different fields differ. Some tools/apps don't allow CSV data with empty fields. If you have access to a Mac, you can download these tools ... https://www.derman.com/Resources/Misc/CSVandVBOtools.zip ... then use the "ex...

Re: Can't get RC applicatioin to run on macOS
So that's it ... I'm "dead in the water" because I can't run the latest version of the OS on real hardware? That seems rather harsh.

Can't get RC applicatioin to run on macOS
Subsequent to my failure to have the RC application run on macOS 10.12.6, I ended up building 3 virtual macOS environments (using VMware Fusion) only to find that the RC application fails launch on macOS 10.15.4, 11.6 and 12.1 (using iMac18,3 with 64 GB memory, VMs assigned 2 processor cores and 8 G...

Re: RaceCapture Action Cam?????
How about an app for phones. Phones can produce excellent audio and video, are fairly rugged, have lots of mounting options available, can be battery/line powered and older/used ones are often quite economical. If there was some type of interface between RC and the phone that enabled RC to turn on/o...

Re: OBDII PIDs from CAN ID 2026 (0x7EA)
My experience with this is limited to my AMG C63 S. Various queries generate responses from more than one controller. The difference is timing. Since there can only be one CAN message on the bus at a time, different responders send different values (i.e., the value that was valid at the time they we...

Re: OBDII PIDs from CAN ID 2026 (0x7EA)
Even using the 2031 mask, the built in OBDII channels are hard coded to only accept 2024 responses, ... Yes, monitored that. I was just repeating my suggestion with hope that it gets implemented in the new version. It's the correct way to do things. I'd also _really_ like to understand if/what the ...

Re: OBDII PIDs from CAN ID 2026 (0x7EA)
I repeat: The standard OBD PID setup (for non-extended PIDs), should default to mask 2031 to allow capturing the responses from all possible controllers. With some cars (e.g., Mercedes/AMG) it's quite common for multiple controllers to respond to various PID queries. There's likely also the same thi...

See the following post:

Spoiler alert ... for non-extended PIDs, use mask 2031 to allow response from all possible controllers (I've suggested that this should be RC's default).

In case you missed it above (seems like you've been busy ... when do you sleep?!), maybe for 2.0: --- Since the spec indicates that the response to a mode 1 non-extended PID query can come from any controller in the range of 0x7E8 thru 0x7EF, shouldn't the default setup for OBDII entries include a &...

[a little while later ...] OK, played some more and found that 2024 as the CAN ID and 2031 as the Mask does work ... so I'll assume that it's now accepting a response from any controller in the range of 2024 thru 2031. Must have made a typo when I first tested it. After exhausting multiple other ide...

Questions about various UI elements and their exact meaning
1) I see: OBDII --> Add OBDII channel --> CAN ID Match --> Mask ... but I can't find any documentation on this. - what does this "Mask" field do and how is it used? - if possible, how would I use the "Mask" field to specify that one PID look at responses from all possible control...

CAN Bus Analysis Tools (free)
Do you want to ... - use your RaceCapture device to find all the OBDII PIDs supported on a CAN bus? - use your RaceCapture device to capture all or just certain-ID CAN messages on a CAN bus? - know more about the inter-message timing on a CAN bus? - sort captured CAN messages into groupings by CAN ...
