Corrosion

Brent, The corrosion was around the solder joints. I guess I didn't wash the board down when I finished soldering. It is in the passenger compartment. The car had not been driven. Was just sitting in an unheated but totally enclosed garage in the Vancouver, BC area. (the Wet Coast) Just a little nor...

Corrosion on board

On Nov. 7/04 I reported that I had the car running on MJLJ as shipped. The advance was a little high, but it was running. I now have my new computer, remapped the controller and everything seems to be working great. Had a problem though. After three months sitting in the garage some corrosion had bu...

Base Map On Chip?

Thanks Brent,
I didn't think it would be good for my car, but wanted to fire it up and make sure it all worked. (It did, with no load.)
I have to wait for good weather, time off, and my laptop, before I can put it on the road so it will be a couple of weeks.

Custom Plug Wires?

Went to a company called Aurora Ignition on Friday. They were very nice and made up the wire set while I waited so I didn't have to make another trip. Black or Red. I got the black and am quite happy, they look good. 8.5mm "Super Mag Plus". I was going to cut down OE wires but went for the...

Base Map On Chip?

'66 Datsun 1600 Convertible

It is a runner. Fired it up a couple of weeks ago with just the Edis and had a steady 10 deg BTDC. Finished up the computer this week and plugged it in. No laptop, so watched the timing change with Brent's map (turbo MR2?). Idles smoother than with dizzy, starts easily and revs well (past 40 deg BTD...

Trigger Wheels / Vacuum Tubing

Just a little info that may help someone else out...... Trigger Wheels - I have come across 2 36-1 wheels which are bolted onto the balancers: Mid 90's Taurus V6 - about 6 1/4" OD and 2 1/8" ID. Full of holes in between and quite light. Mid 90's Mustang V6 - between 4 and 5" OD and ab...

Base Map On Chip?

I am going to fire up tomorrow and was wondering if there is a base map programmed onto the chip already? My laptop crapped out on me so I'm without the ability to do any mapping on my own till new computer arrives. Plan on just firing it up and see if it stays at 10 deg. or if there is a map on chi...

RPM Limit

Brent, Helping my brother with his 510 racer. Rev limit for his engine is between 9-10,000 RPM. I have searched the web and come across several references in the 8-9000 rpm for the EDIS unit, as well as one for 9500 rpm. Also talked to a Ford service Rep who said the limit should be well beyond that...
