I powered my RCP exclusively with OBD over the last year. I mounted my unit using one of the seat bolts under the driver's side seat. Then ran an OBD2 extension cable to it along the door sill trim. I unplugged the extension cable from the RCP OBD2 cable when I didn't want it to be powered. As a sid...

The analysis software really needs the ability to set the start/finish after the fact (IMHO). +1. Plotting vs time or distance from the beginning of the file plus the ability to crop the file in the app when plotted vs time would allow for easy comparison of autocross logs that don't have start/fin...

I'd like to echo the sentiments of others here. The limitation of needing start/finish markers in the data in order for the race-capture upload feature to work is, IMO, a major problem. I ran into that and I'm guessing that's the problem gizmoto had. At minimum, an "export to stf" feature ...

Well I got at least one confirmation via PM that what I'm seeing is "normal" for AEMdata. It supports math channels- just not when you imported data via CSV/Dlog99. Has anyone spent the ~$400 on GEMS Pro? It supports importing CSV data natively (no need to import into Dlog99). I ran into ...

I've tried that as well but I always get an error message saying: "'171.67(random float number)' is not a valid floating point value". I've read in this thread already that another guy had the same problem but the proposed solutions didn't seem to work on me. I also attached a photo with ...

I've also not had success loading the raw RCP files into RaceRender (free version). Instead, I've been loading the output of the perl .log to .csv conversion script into RaceRender. That seems to work without issue.

I am trying to use the perl script to convert a *.csv file I acquired from my datalogger (my datalogger is not a RCP one) and it seems like it can't recognize the time column in the *.csv. The first column in my file is the time column. I attach some photos with the *.csv and cmd with error. Since ...

I'm not sure what you mean by "numbers are all over the place" The import into excel should be straightforward. Open .log file w/ Excel, (might have to select "All Files" from the file type filter drop down to get it to show .log files), Select "My data has hdeaders." i...

An FYI, RCP currently only supports OBDII for 2008+ CAN bus cars per here: http://www.autosportlabs.net/RaceCapturePro2_OBD2 I haven't heard any news on the adapter for older OBDII applications lately, but you'll still have a trade off between number of channels and rate like all OBDII parameter rea...

PM me your email and I'll send you a couple runs to compare in GEMS. I've logged almost every single auto-x run my car has made this year (110+). Unfortunately there's not a native analysis app yet. I do the .LOG -> .csv -> DLOG99 -> GEMS dance on each file I want to compare/view, but love being abl...
