Megajolt for motorcycle? Is there any information out there

Ive searched for a while on the site and could only find a few posts about motorcycle application that were vague in regards to the basic questions I have. Ive installed the megajolt system on my MGB and Im looking into the application of using megajolt on a motorcycle (1971 Honda CB 500) but Im not...

Misfire question... Sensor or Coil?

Hi, Brent I saw in a previous post that you stated that if the VR sensor mount is vibrating that it can cause a misfire. I have a rough idle, more like a miss happening... The other problem could be a coil that I can swap out. tested plugs and wires... all is good. Here is a video of the car at a lo...

I had a chance this weekend to check the saw connection. It ended up being the molex connection from the saw wire not making contact with the corresponding megajolt pin. I made up new wires with the molex connectors and connected them individually without the plastic part that clips in. This made th...

Hi Everyone, So I got a chance to check the wiring. It ended up being the molex connection with the megajolt unit for the saw signal. Everything is up and running fine now. I ran new leads with the molex connectors and just have them each plugged in individually to insure a good connection and every...

Hi Brent,

I did a continuity test and the cables are good. I tried pushing the connection into the molex plug a little more to see if it wasnt seated properly. I will have to find time to test this week. I will keep you posted.

I posted this in the Q&A section as well Brentp with a little more detail. Everything is up and running and the megajolt is communicating with the laptop while running now. The problem is that the software is stating its running 20BTDC but when hit with a regular timing light it is still reading...

No change in timing when hit with timing light

Hi, So I successfully got the edis running on its own, then the megajolt wired up and hooked up and running properly with the laptop. Everything looks great. The only problem is when I use a regular timing light on the car it is showing -5BTDC. The megajolt is showing -20BTDC on the software but in ...

Definitely will. Hopefully I can take some video too and post on youtube.

Going to have to clean up the wiring and run some extensions first... Want to make it all pretty for your site... Edis wires are a little bit of a birds nest...

Voltage regulator?

Is anyone running a voltage regulator inline with the mega jolt and coil power 12V+? Or is that overkill and not advisable as the regulator on the alternator should be fine? If you are using one do you have a link of where you got it?

Thank you,

James

Just was able to successfully flash the mega jolt, power cycle and then have the same ignition map load up with the timing correction of +5 as well. Very happy. Next up, wait for a sunny day and plug in my saw and pip ! Excited... Will finally be able to get my carbs tuned up perfect knowing I have ...

Limp home running at 5 BTDC

Hi, I have the EDIS system running my MGB by itself in limp home mode. When I hit it with a standard timing light it is reading at 5 BTDC instead of 10 BTDC. With that said I just have to adjust for that in the Mega Jolt software as +5 corect? Not -5? Thanks! Hoping to get the MegaJolt running soooo...
