Interesting development.... :) I had to reinstall Windows on the "home " desktop pc, due to imminent failure of the drive. Out of interest ( after I'd downloaded 4million updates from Microsoft...etc etc ) thought I'd try the megajolt software and unit again - been pretty despondant about ...

The only time I've seen a crash before that wasn't USB-related was when the serial cable+adaptor was dodgy. Might be something to check. I'd agree, but I've had this cable working fine on another machine a week or so ago...,,,how would I test it anyway ?? :) Also, updated the graphics driver to the...

Thrasher, If your still hitting a brick wall then I can take a look at your unit for you to perform some fault finding. Don't despair the benefits well be great once it is up and running properly. I too have a couple of MK1 Golf GTI's, which I haven't touched for a couple of months, to be restored ...

I've got a GF code one in the green car, an HK in the gold one. On the GF it has those odd exhaust port hole heaters for the inlet manifold...just don't like em. The HK doesn't have those and also benefits from dished pistons for the higher C/R. :) Funnily enough , the GF is flying now I've de sludg...

Had this for a couple years now, solid, never been welded. Has the ( nasty ) early type 1300 engine with about 8:1 c/r and a four speed box. Nice, I had looked into GSF before, but I wasn't sure they could still get what I was after. I'll have to dig out my smallblock stuff again :D. Thanks dude! Minor update: The car fired up last night (that's never an issue, thank you MJLJr ;) ), I tentatively shifted into 1st from P...and it engaged...

Mainly crank and rod bearings (not sure if they're shared with the later FI 1.3 motors or not). My 1.3 pistons are still in top shape, so I'll just have a 1.1 block bored out for them if I can't hone out the ridge in the 1.3 block without damaging it. That's really the only thing holding me back, a...
