http://www.autosportlabs.net/MJLJ_V4_vehicle_installation_guide#Temperature_sensor_.2F_variable_resistor I think this link should help you. Once you have it connected you need to set it up using this link. http://www.autosportlabs.net/MJLJ_V4_Operation_Guide#Auxiliary_Input_Channel_Configuration Mos...

well as long as the edis see's a negative ???? what you call it, trigger, at the correct magnitude then in theory it should work

Do we have to use a vr sensor

I've been thinking, yet again, is it a must that we have to use a vr sonsor and steel triggerwheel to supply crank information to the edis. Would it be possible or has it been done where we use something like an opto sensor with a thin aluminum/plastic disc as a trigger wheel. This would make it alo...

thats a clever idea, hadn't thought of that. A sort of diffuser to mix the colours. Not sure how you would mount it on the cluster unless you mount the cluster behind your dash, with the screen covering the hole is possible??? or a 52mm gauge pod hmmm???

couple of ideas for you anyway

what is possible, from talking too one of my fabulous friends, is to get the green and red leds flashing at high speeds making it look orange but you can't have the red and green leds on continuously to make orange. The leds in the cluster total 14, 6 red and 8 green. Having both on continuously its...

firstly i would bolt everything down properly so you don't have anything moving about, it could be a dodgy connection which gets worse when stuff is moving about, ie down slope. And check all your connections too. secondly see if you get sparks from your plugs when it wont start, could be fuel??? ma...

hi paul Was it you who emailed me?? you will want to take one which isn't affected by the carb butterfly when shut ie its not on the atmospheric side but on the manifold side to create a vacuum. From your description the brake boost on the carb should be fine, as would the port off the manifold as l...

hopefully here is the circuit diagram if its worked properly

R? - i have not put a resistor in line with the red leds as yet as they seem to work ok without. A 100 Ohm value would probably be ok for some protection.

yey, well done. It is a great feeling. But don't worry i had and sure most have made a few mistakes but it does work and very well, once they have all been smoothed out. I like the look of the trigger wheel. We should do a thread/sticky of all the differing types of triggerwheel so other newbies hav...

had a play with the vintage smiths voltage regulator and couldn't get a steady output using a digital multimeter, didn't try testing with an analogue one, so i went with what others above have said and put a more up to date semiconductor one on. I'm very lucky to have a fantastic workshop on base (R...

try starting with the aldon yellow one http://www.autosportlabs.org/viewtopic.php?t=1643 I think that would be the closest at the moment that can be found on here. All i have done with mine so far is get a map off here with an engine of similar spec and then have a play around with it. Mainly to get...

If anyone is interested here is the link of the shift light working. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXpv3Boxgnw In the video you can see the red light is on dimly all the time. This wasn't noticable to the human eye at the time. I think this has happened as there is no resisitor in line with that si...

right i had a play with the option switch today, just flicking between a standard map and a map which works well with the engine. I noticed there is a lil delay in the engine changing its characterisitc due to the change of map, of around half a second or so. Literally a blip, but i'm not sure if th...

Success, i set the the output options and shift light to low levels of rpm for testing and the shift light now has 3 different brightnesses of green and a bright red just before the rev limiter. I'll try to get a circuit diagram of how i have done this if anyone else is interested but so far it work...
