Yup - just checked it on the desktop machine with a real serial port and it works fine - as expected. I knew it was working fine because it's kind of half working for a second or so using this USB-Serial adapter. Disappointing - every other serial device (and I am a bit techy) works perfectly with m...

Strange serial connection issues

I have my Megajolt up and running. The EDIS works in limphome and the Megajolt controls the advance when connected. However my issues arise when connecting via serial (USB adapter) It seems to get runtime data intermittently - every once in a while it will work for a second or so. It will download t...

Wow that is awesome - it will be so easy.

It could actually be very easy to make a standalone unit to tune the MegaJolt - just lots of code! A simple one that modifys the current cell would be easy enough but difficult to use.

Thanks - and I'll let you know how I get on.

Direct serial communication

Is there any documentation covering serial communication with the MJLJ? For instance getting the RPM etc manually

I had the idea of interfacing an Arduino and an LCD with it - could be used to show RPM, temp (from aux) etc etc

Oh yeah - I am being silly and not reading the schematic properly... looks like the correct side of R3 is perfect.

Modify MAP V3 for aux input with TPS?

As I am not using the TPS is it possible to modify it so that the aux input is using the TPS pin? Seems simple enough to just wire it in where C12 or R3 is? I would need to cut the track going back to the processor? I thought I had seen a mod similar to this (at least something soldered in to that a...

It should do the outputs - but not the RPM bins...

Am not 100% sure that I have the programmable outputs in the right "mode"

I'm not sure on that model -

I'm not sure on that model - the one with no scaling function is £30 or so from Rapid Electronics. You could make one using the non-scaling one quite easily... as it has an output when a set value is reached. You could use this connected to a counter display. Would probably work quite well like tha...
