VVT controller

How about a stand alone VVT controller, many modern engines have VVT and whilst the fuel and ignition can be taken care of there seems to be nothing to control VVT. I beleive it could be a possible development of the megajolt ign controller and would be real useful when retro fitting a more modern e...

Is the Megajolt mounted below the level of the tapping in the inlet? I had something similar happen on a vacuum gauge some years ago, fuel from the fuel vapour collects in the tube. Apart from removing the tube periodically to blow it through it wasn't a problem, not sure how the MAP sensor reacts t...

Mazda Miata/MX5 Coil pack

Would it be possible to use the coil pack from the 1.8L Mazda engine? Would save on expensive custom spark plug wires.

It does make a difference is the short answer With TPS it's usually linear as the TPS is measuring how much the throttle butterfly is open ie 10, 20, 30 % whereas a MAP sensor is measuring manifold vacuum (as a absolute pressure hence M.anifold A.bsolute P.ressure) At small throttle openings the man...

I've found an anomoly with some of the coil packs fitted to Ford cars in the UK. 2001my Focus with Zetec engine has the coil pack cylinder notation reverse to 2001my Mondeo with Duratec engine. to make the Focus coilpack run on the Mondeo I had to connect Plug leads 1&3 to the coil posts 2&4...

rs232 serial cardbus Vs USB to serial lead

As for Nitropixie's non adjustable timing light you are correct in that you should see twice the pulses but at the correct ign advance as your timing light is not trying to calculate when to flash! it just see's a trigger and flashes. My light however is adjustable and uses engine speed vs time to c...

If you are using the factory flywheel and crank sensor in their stanard locations the you actually have 10 degrees BTDC because that's how Ford designed it to work. For their limited operation strategy (LOS) the edis receives no signal from the ecu as it's being used purely to run the fuel injection...

Edis is a wasted spark system ie the edis fires the coil pack as cyl 1 & 4 together then 2 & 3 together so your timing light is seeing twice as many pulses and therefore twice the spark advance and twice the RPM.
