The coil pack annotations are correct, its a coil pack not a distributor. A coil pack like this is effectively 2 coils that fire from both ends so when a spark is sent through plug lead to cylinder 1 a wasted spark also goes to plug 3, coil packs usually pair odd and even cylinders together hence 1...

Not an answer to your question about the plug.
But what you have incircled as coil A - that should be cylinder 1&4, not 1&3. Since either cyl 2 or 3 fire after cyl 1 on a 4cyl engine.
Shouldn't it ?

My plugs get sooty and black almost immediately. A sign that it is running to rich ? Absolutely! You should have a nice light brown colour if everything's about right (apart from when the cold-start is on). Apart from the mixture, are you sure that your cold-start/choke mechanism is off? David Yes,...

The voltage ends up a huge amount more negative on one terminal, and a huge amount more positive on the other, relative to the chassis. I can't explain why you (and I) got intermittent flashes on one lead, and strong flashes on the other - it happened that way for me too. I can only suggest that th...

Don't trust a timing light to give sensible results! The wasted-spark coilpack sends a high-voltage puls down 2 leads simultaneously - one is a positive pulse, and the other is negative. One will trigger the light, and the other won't. Been there, done that... Ok, but even so - how come I get the s...

Two of the plugs on the coil pack are bad ?

I'm having trouble getting the engine to run properly after just having installed the whole system. At first I thought it just was the table that was all wrong. Then I decided to look to see if I had sparks properly and evenly. When I installed the system I only had the timinglight on the first cyli...

I get an advance value I don't even have in the table !?

When trying to work out my table I drove around with the lap top next to me. Many times the advance dial showed 12, 16 and 18.
And the lowest advance value I had in the table was 19. How can this be?

I enclose a screendump of the table.

Ok, so if I understood this right: I first calibrate the TPS. Then I look for when the scaled value is 100. The ADC value for when scaled value is 100 would be the value I correct the load axis with to be the maximum value ? I have an ADC value of 145 when scaled value is 100. So at the bottom row i...

To dial-in your load axis, you will need to perform these two tasks: 1. Calibrate your TPS (you may have done this already) 2. Adjust the load axis bins to match your TPS range- typically this is 0-100% in 10% increments, but you can separate the bins differently to suit your preferences. Ok, I had...

Isn't it as simple as to wire a user output to a relay - and set the user output to switch on at a choosen temperature ? And have this relay run the fan.

Hi ! Firstly - why do you loose the 2 teeth signal when you install MJLJ ? Do you remove the wheel that these two teeth are on ? If so, can't you keep it - and mount the 36-1 wheel outside it, and have both ? If not - I have a modified distributor with a 72-2 wheel. And it works nicely. I got it sta...

Number of bins limited by correcting the TPS axis ?

After correcting the TPS axis, the bins usable seems to have been narrowed down, instead of beeing spread out over the new scale. I'm using the latest downloadable configurator software for V3 board. Also, in the table for load it doesn't says 0-100 as I would expect. But rather 0-240. This seems mo...

Hi Brent ! As all others I'm very impressed with the new V4 MJLJ! I have a few questions. - Where do I find the firmware update for V3 users to enable temp input (a nice feature that one !) ? - Which configurator version should I then run for my V3 board ? - I have previously updated the firmware on...
