Okay, last night i went through the wiring, no problems that i could see. i also reinstalled the latest version of the firmware. So today, it worked all the way into work (30mins) and also worked on the way back, including ticking over for about 5 mins while i talked to a mate for a bit. So hopefull...

I've bein using the same computer since the middle of may. so all the test's since then have bein using my laptop, windows vista with the prolific lead. I'm kinda thinking along the lines of a loose connection or poor connection somewhere but surely the software would just stop working and then work...

Heres what happend to day then. Hocked the laptop up to the megajolt unit for the jorney into work and the software froze almost instatnly, reading timeout reading runtime data at the bottom of the screen. whilst drivng i reset the laptop to see what would happen and when i started the software back...

Ok so now it's not working again....... after altering the wiring i.e. connecting the PIP signal wire from user out 1 to the correct place :oops: its stopped working again. it just freezes after 20 or 30 seconds again. one thing i have noticed is that the programe doesn't freeze completly, its only ...

I have no plans at the moment for using the programable outputs.

Completely uterly my fault!

Double checked the wires, and had plugged the PIP wire into the wrong connector
It was plugged into the userout 1 plug, would that have caused any damage to the megajolt unit? seems to be all ok

the win98 computer doesn't have a serial port, so i can't try that.

I shall see to night as to weather or not it freezes when the cars not running and get bk to u.

Tryed all that with the FTDI leads.
even went through the process of doing it all again with there support team and they even came up blank! so i just gave up on the FTDI leads altogether!
