The two pieces of software on that page were for 'VRSSIM VR sensor simulator for Ford EDIS ignition module. This software generates a simulated 36-1 signal on the PC parallel port, to allow bench testing of the full EDIS / MJLJ system.' http://www.heggs.co.uk/vrssim/ and 'Pocket Spark Configure &...

I to have just fitted an edis 6 to my TR6 only last week. I haven't had chance to sort the map out yet and the vacuum isn't fitted yet so I'm looking for the original distributer characteristics to use as a start. Currently I've got it increasing to about 27' at 4000RPM. I've read other posts about ...

Hi Brent, Thanks for the reply. I downloaded all the configurator and firmware software again and reinstalled to 3.2.1 and everything worked as it should. I then reinstalled the configurator 3.3.1 and the firmware 3.3.0 Again it doesn't store the number of cylinders and in the global controller opti...

configurator problems
Hi Brent I've finally got round to putting waisted spark on my TR6. I got it running the other day, without the MJ fitted and it ran fine at about 10'. I thought I'd upgrade the firmware to 3.3.0 and configurator to 3.3.1 (all this was done fine and the load gauge moves when I suck on the pipe). I w...

Hi Jeff I posted a similar suggestion last year. I think the use of a multiplexer and the user outputs to select the correct channel would give greater logging capabilities by allowing 4 or 8 analog inputs for things like water temps, oil temps, oil pressure, EGT, lamda and many more. The external s...

Hi Brent Thanks for looking at this. I do think linux compiled code will be better than using WINE because of potential error/problems using an emulator. If it helps, don't know if it will, is there any information you could use from megatunix http://megatunix.sourceforge.net/ ? This is the linux tu...

Ubuntu, Xubuntu (linux)
Hi Brent, I've search the forum for topics on this subject and found a few mentioned, I've taken one of your replies. Would it be possible for you to complile the configurate (v3.3.0 & 3.2.1) so everybody with linux will be able to use their OS of choice? cheers, Dave The software is written usi...

EDIS numbering
I've 2 EDIS6 modules with slightly different numbering. One’s 91-BB-12K072-BA and the other's F4ZF-12K072-AB. Does anybody know what the first and last set of characters mean? I'm assuming they may be a date and revision so I'd like to know how to decode them and if they both have the same features....

more fault finding
Hi James I see you've taken U2 out, the MAX232, and you have 5v on pin 13. Is this also the case with and without your PC lead connected? What pin out have you used for your home made cable? Are you 100% sure you read the correct pin numbers on each end of the male/female 9 pin plug? sorry if this i...

Communication problems
Hi James
You could try taking the processor out (if it's in a socket) and making a link between the TX and RX with a thin piece of wire. Now in a hyperterminal window whatever you type will be sent straight back.

Re: Using an Ipaq hx2110
Hi
I didn't realise there was any megajolt software for an Ipaq, I'd be interested in trying it.
I got a lead off Ebay some years ago but never got round to trying it.
Dave

Re: Firing order question and general confusion!
Hi Sam I've read the posts on the mini forum, what a p1$$ about you've had. What I'd suggest is to 1 - reinstall your coil and dizzy to get the car running and prove everything is still OK. 2 - have the EDIS setup running, not connected to the megajolt at first. 3 - connect a strobe light to 1 on th...
