just got mine and it looks good, i really underestimated just how small it would be.

2 questions:

1. Will the solder used for the components melt at the temperatures used to shrink heat-shrink tube?

2. What gauge of wire would be suitable for hook-up?

In you last picture it looks like the VR sensor is chassis mounted. This will give you problems as the engine will move relative to the sensor, dropping the signal . You need to get it solidly mounted on the engine.

That bell housing will hold a type 9 box (at least it should, the bolt pattern looks right), unless the type 9 you have is a long input shaft one out of a v6. Is there any way to test an EDIS unit for correct function off the car? or do you just test it by instalation? Just wondering as mine will be a little difficult to get at once on the car, so would like to avoid having to pull it out again if its no good.

I was just unsure of whether EDIS was designed to do advance of less than 10 degrees. As it will, i can set my cranking advance to 5 degrees and give my starter a bit of an easier time.

Can the cranking advance in cell 0,0 be set to less than the default 10 degrees of the EDIS system? or would i need to alter the position of the toothed wheel to allow a real 5 degrees, and alter the running advance table to compensate. What is the permissible advance range that can be programed if ...

Thanks for the swift reply. Sorry for the lack of clarity, I was talking about the trigger wheel. The weber sensor should be OK with ford components as it is the same sensor that is used on early Cosworth Sierras, though i dont know if this had EDIS. Does the kit include a longer crank pulley bolt?
