Good luck with the MOT! Mine was last week and passed.....having not been on the road since '98. The MOT tester happened to notice the megajolt and commented how great it looked. As my car is on a Q plate it doesnt need to do the emissions tests (except for visible smoke test), however we thought it...

Hi Dan, Thanks for that. I thought is was but wasnt sure. I think I will have to find one of them TPS myself as it looks like a straightforward and tidy fit you've done there. Yes the 7 port looks great......I just hope it goes as good as it looks for the price it cost. Hoping to get a k1100 head wh...

Hi Dan, looks nice setup. Just curious which VR sensor bracket are you are using. Is that the KAD one? I am using one by www.specialist-components.com. which looks very similar. Also, I am fitting twin dcoe webers on a 7 port head on my other midas so I will be fitting a TPS on that one. I noticed y...

As promised here are some photos of the installation in the Midas Gold Coupe: I have a white one too which is a Midas Gold Convertible.....can you see it in the paint reflection? I have another megajolt ready to fit in that, although that one will be running using a TPS as it runs on a hotter cam, 7...

Hi Brent, Yes I cant see why a windows mobile smartphone shouldnt work too if it has bluetooth built in. Pairing with the socketcom serial bluetooth adapter brings up the serial port services. I bet a phone is even cooler, hadnt thought of that!....and a lot more convenient too if your just not quit...

.... I forgot to mention. It could be a great security measure too. Whats to stop you typing in loads of bad ignition advance/retard figures thus disabling the car from starting. :) No one would be able to start the car unless they knew how to unplug the megajolt and put it in 'limp home mode'. Go b...

Use a PDA/Phone to bluetooth into MJLJ & change settings

I had a crack at this as I thought it might be possible. Basically you need a Socketcom bluetooth serial adapter, a bluetooth enabled pocketpc and the software that dh154 kindly provided on his website at http://ipaqsparker.tripod.com First you need to put 3 jumper wires a few pins on the mjlj board...

Further to my question the other day about wiring in the Ipaq 28/2900 Series of PDAs I can confirm you dont need to hack cables up to make it work with the Pocketspark (thanks to dh154, David, for that program) for the Megajolt. What you need is the Sync Cable (which has USB and RS232 Serial Ends fo...

With the pocketspark software and a ipaq 2800/2900 series pocket pc is it not possible to just use a normal sync cable from the pocket pc and just put a null modem cable (swaps TX & RX pins) and a gender changer (if needed) on the rs232 (mjlj) end, rather than cut up a lead?

Kind regards,

David

Hi Brent, Yes I promise I will post some pictures up of car and setup as soon as I get my camera on it. There are pictures of the Midas at this site: www.midascars.net I think one or two were shipped to the US at some point. If you have heard of the Mini Marcos, its kind of like its grandaughter usi...

Midas Gold A Series engined car controlled by bluetooth

Hi, Thanks to all the advice on here and a fellow member Martin Millener who built me a Megajolt I have managed to get my Midas Gold up and running with megajolt. In addition, I have managed to get bluetooth working on the serial port using a Socketcom cordless serial adapter and a Sony Vaio C1MGP p...
